The core aim of education and learning should be to foster holistic development. The importance of co-curricular and extracurricular activities cannot be overlooked in achieving this goal. Such activities contribute to the development of various domains of mind and personality, including intellectual, emotional, social, moral, spiritual and aesthetic growth.
Teacher trainees will need to perform multiple functions in organizing and executing co-curricular activities in their future careers. Through these activities, our trainees not only develop themselves across different domains, but also learn to plan, organize and coordinate events systematically.
Keeping this in mind, every Saturday we allocate one hour for co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as singing competitions, poetry recitations, on-the-spot painting, cartooning, mehndi competitions, photography, debates, elocution, drama, various sports activities and spiritual practices like yoga and meditation. We also conduct social activities to sensitize students to pressing social issues.
To provide opportunities for first-hand observation and to make learning enjoyable, the college organizes various educational visits. In addition, we nurture leadership qualities in our trainees through activities that build public speaking, mass motivation, life skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork and time management.
