World Yoga Day

Objectives of the Event
To promote good mental and physical health among students through yoga.
To make this ancient practice popular among the younger generation who are unaware of its benefits.
To develop the habit of meditation among youngsters.

Report of the Activity
21st June is observed as World Yoga Day across the globe. The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means “to join” or “to yoke.” In the practice of yoga, the ultimate aim is self-development and self-realization. In fact, yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. It is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind and spirit. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline that originated in ancient India. Considering yoga as a positive force, Wisdom College of Education conducted an awareness programme on Yoga Day.
