Educational Tours committee

Educational tours play an important role in imparting practical knowledge of a subject. The conceptual foundation of a subject is developed through theoretical teaching, but when it is supplemented with real-life observations, it leaves a lasting impact.

Through educational tours, students gain opportunities to learn independently and experience various events firsthand. They also become aware of the latest developments in their field of study.

Inside the classroom, students acquire new knowledge, ideas and concepts; outside the classroom, they explore, observe and experience. Thus, educational tours provide a wide range of benefits for holistic learning.

There are 5 benefits of Educational Excursion and Tours: -
  • Effective Learning,
  • Exchange of Ideas,
  • Personal Development,
  • Heightens Perception,

Lesson Plan Writing and Achievement Test Construction

As per university norms, a session on lesson plan writing and achievement test construction was conducted. Mr. M. Ramachandran delivered a speech on the topic and explained the methods of test construction and lesson plan writing.

Through this session, students enhanced their skills in self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and effective communication. The program served as an educational milestone in the professional development of student-teachers.

Lesson Plan Practices

Planning ahead is essential for achieving goals and education is no exception. In education, a lesson plan serves as a preparation tool that makes the teaching–learning process easier and more effective. It clearly specifies the objectives to be achieved, the teaching methods to be used, the instructional aids required and the evaluation techniques to be applied during instructional hours.

A lesson plan helps teachers ensure a smooth flow of instruction and provide appropriate scaffolding for learners. Therefore, a three-day special programme on lesson plan writing was conducted for first-year student-teachers by their respective subject teachers in September 2025.

Academic Counselling

Dr. V. Karpagam, B.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D., delivered a speech on Life Skills. She discussed the following core life skills: self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, effective communication, interpersonal relationships, coping with stress and coping with emotions. The session served as an important step in the professional development of student-teachers.

Our students are strongly advised to attend such counselling sessions, as they help them plan their further studies and motivate them to secure appropriate jobs in the future.

This counselling is also extended to faculty members. They are encouraged to attend and actively participate in such programmes, as these initiatives enhance the potential of lecturers in introducing new trends in emerging teaching technologies.
